Though our Kamil is a puppet, he is not a fairy tale creature. Not even a puppet soft toy. Our Kamil is a living creature. That’s how we perceive him and that’s how we play with him.
The original play Kamil was written for BDNR by the acclaimed Polish children’s author Marta Guśniowska, one of the most staged authors in Polish children’s theatres. With her unique signature style, she humorously and sensitively brings the world of animals and people to the present. In contemporary world, the coexistence of people and dogs is one of the hot topics. Almost every household has a dog. What is it like to have a dog? What does it bring? To people, to dogs? Who learns from whom? Can we take care of each other? What it means for the dog and for its master, Kamil the dog will tell us himself.
